A study once called US Bank Stadium the ugliest stadium in the world. I repeated that study on TikTok and millions of people called me an idiot or blind or both.

🤫 Sport’s Dirty Little Secret

Having a sports team in your city isn’t a public-private partnership, it’s an ongoing hostage negotiation.

Take Miller Park American Family Field in Milwaukee, WI for example.

The Brewers are currently demanding the state fork over $290M for stadium repairs and, in turn, they’ll promise not to leave Milwaukee until 2043.

But that’s just not a good deal for the state.

You see, the Brewers are already getting a slew of kick-backs from the state that include:

  • Not having to pay property taxes

  • Not having to pay sales tax on stadium building materials

  • Not having to pay a portion of federal income tax

These tax breaks plus more will benefit the Brewers to the tune of $1.6 billion over 40 years.

Now juxtapose that to the $263 million the stadium will bring in via tax revenue across the same period of time and you can see why this is such a raw deal.

🚗 Parking Lots Will Be the Death of Me

Is it just me, or does every stadium look like this:

Well, a staggering 37% of NFL stadiums do.

Meanwhile, the rest do the bare minimum by having at least 6 different establishments (restaurants, bars, etc.) around the stadium that are within a 10-minute walk.

But this edition’s ‘Most Frustrating Fact of the Week™️’ is that the Milwaukee Brewer’s parking lot is currently estimated to be worth $1.7 million per acre.

So much wasted potential (not you, the asphalt).

⚽️ The Legend of Lasso

Jason Sudeikis will make $1M per episode in the final season of Ted Lasso.
